The Final Word on Christmas

Hope you had a nice one. This article makes a nice follow-up to the last comments I posted about Christmas. It is so much easier to argue about symbolic matters, such as creches on the courthouse lawn that it is to actually look at the teachings of Jesus and apply them in our lives. Christian fundamentalists want to make religion easy; it's not. All you have to do is believe and "get saved" -- such a good deal; how could anybody pass it up? The spiritual life means continual struggle towards an ideal. The Sermon on the Mount isn't a bad place to start.

As 'Abdu'l-Baha' said "Would that all were truly Christian!"
